The Accrew team has spent the last couple months working very hard at the Brandery in Cincinnati. We’ve talked to a lot of accountants of both small and large firms. Frankly, the learning process will never stop. Yet it’s through our research that we’ve decided to change our name to Sqrl (pronounced Squirrel). I know what you’re thinking, “What the hell is Sqrl?” Let me answer.
In our conversations we kept coming back to one problem that had to be solved. The loss of time, peace of mind, and profitability due to client back and forth. When we were honest with ourselves if Accrew was on a path to solve that problem, we knew it wasn’t the case. So we’ve shifted to Sqrl, the digital hunter and gather. Or as we like to say, Go Getter Technology.
Sqrl is made to be your request dashboard as the accountant or professional service provider. Just insert a client request with a due date on it, and Sqrl will send a natural language e-mail to the client notifying them of the request.
You can use the Sqrl dashboard to track all of your completed, outstanding, and past due requests. If your client doesn’t respond in a pre-determined amount of time. Sqrl will then send another reminder. Sqrl works for you, so you don’t have to spend your time on non value-add activities.
Once your client responds via e-mail, Sqrl will ingest the e-mail and parse out the response inside of the system. That way you can easily tell if the request was performed or not.
Clients have an option to respond directly within the dashboard or through e-mail. Why the option? Because reducing friction is key. Time and time again accountants told us how difficult it was to get buy-in on their software products and project management tools from clients. So we listened and have developed a way to exist with the least amount of friction possible.
At the heart of our work, Accrew and Sqrl are very similar. It’s a product made by a group of accountants, hoping to change the way we all work with each other and our clients in the profession. Relationships no longer exist only down the street, they happen across the country, the world, and everywhere in between. We want Sqrl to be the cornerstone of running everything from a great one person CPA firm to a well oiled corporate audit team managing hundreds of requests at a time.
We encourage you to check out the new site. In the meantime, continue to enjoy the content on running a modern practice here at the blog. If you have any questions about the change, send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
